Spike Lee returns to New Orleans Five years after the horrific event of Hurricane Katrina for ‘IF GOD IS WILLING AND DA CREEK DON’T RISE’, a four hour, two part documentary debuting tonight August 23rd and tomorrow night the 24th, exclusively on HBO.
The documentary airs at 8pm central time.

I recently sat down to watch the 1995 crime film Se7en directed by David Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker, also staring two of Holly Woods best Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. The film is about two detectives jointly investigating a series of ritualistic murders inspired by the seven deadly sins found in the Bible, in the book of Proverbs. The seven deadly sins are as follows Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Greed, and Sloth. The murders through out the movie has to do with these seven deadly sins, for instance the first murder scene of the movie has to do with Gluttony. The victim is bound by his feet and hands and is face down in a plate of spaghetti, by the way the victim is at last 400 0 500 pounds, not a pretty site. The master mind behind these murders is played by Kevin Spacey.
Over all this movie has a nice plot to it, and also very good writing. The characters in the movie gel nicely together, i guess there is no other standard with the likes of Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, and Kevin Spacey as part of the cast.
The two detectives try relentlessly to find the killer, even in one scene of the movie knocking on his front door, but I’ll let you see the movie to find out what happens in that scene for those who haven’t seen the movie yet. Each murder scene is as gruesome as the next from gluttony to lust each scene gets more gruesome, sloth had to be the worst of them all.
As for the sins Anger and Envy are saved for the last scene of the movie, where the murder turns himself in and agrees to so called reveal the last two bodies to the authorities. So the two detectives drive out to a remote area where the supposed final two bodies are located accompanied by air support.
Little does Brad Pitt’s character know that he was to become the sin anger and the murder envy, as seen played out in the video below.
I would also like to talk about Morgan Freeman’s fashion in this movie, i have to admit he was pretty well dress in this movie. Thought every scene you see him with one of the following, a cardigan, a nice button down, tweed blazer, trench coat, or hat. In some instances all of those items, and they where very well arranged outfits. Who ever the wardrobe person was did a great job. Check out the pics below.
I just recently watch the 90’s classic “Loves Jones” written and directed byTheodore Witcher, one of the most well put together films in history, in my opinion. This movie has a classic love story plot, with leading actor Larenz Tate as Darius Lovehall, and actress Nia Long as Nina Mosely. There is also a great supporting cast too, with actors Isaiah Washington and Bill Bellamy. This movie contains great poetry, music, drama, and comedy, it’s guaranteed to grab your attention from the first scene when Darius reads his “Brotha to The Night” poem. I strongly recommend this movie for aspiring poets, it will give you some great motivation. I was only 7 years old when this movie came out, but I remember hearing about it just never seen it before. I’m glad I waited to see it now cause I probably wouldn’t have understood it. This movie has great intellectual properties about it as well. In my opinion movies like this rarely exist anymore. During the 90’s some of the best movies were made, movies like “Love and Basketball”, “Ink Well”, “The Best Man”, “The Wood”, and many others. Those are examples of good solid movies with substance to them. I encourage people my age to see this movie if you haven’t already.
Darius and Nina start out just kickin it, but end up falling in love, ultimately having a Loves Jones for one another.

The stupid girl friend who kept calling her boyfriend paranoid, she didn’t believe him till she was body slammed by the step father.
The most gullible character in the movie, the mom. She didn’t believe the old lady across the street, her best friend, her son, until her chased her down with a knife.
This movie shows how sometimes women can be too trusting. This guy could have been taken care of if the the women just had of believed the men. The worse part of the movie is when the boys fathers comes over while their playing the video game upstairs. The older son here’s the glass break over his father head. He go’s down stairs and is right there when his own father is being killed but dosent go all the way down into the basement.
